How are Doulas Trained?

There are a variety of ways in which doulas are trained.
Weekend workshops and seminars, mentoring programs,
hands on training, and a wide selection of internet
correspondence schools. To attain certification, a student
must complete all required assignments, read and report
on required books, provide a specified number of hours of
pregnancy support, attend multiple certifying births, and
complete and pass the organizations certification exam.
